Schmalz, Inc.

Construction of the Schmalz manufacturing facility in North Raleigh required not just the typical knowledge of construction in our area, but also an understanding of the construction desires and expectations of the German-owned company, and the ability to communicate differences between the two in a manner that bettered the overall project. Focus worked with Schmalz to design a master plan for the property that will make future expansions less intrusive on their functionality and save the company money.

K-Flex USA

K-Flex USA in Youngsville, NC is one of the largest single-building projects Focus has undertaken to date. At 365,000 square feet--the size of three Sam’s Clubs--the K-Flex project was a massive build! As the business strategy for this particular location meant the owner did not wish to purchase the land directly, Focus was not only responsible for the construction, but also for finding K-Flex a financial partner who could buy the property, then lease the building back to K-Flex. Through our industry contacts, Focus was able to locate and secure exactly the partner K-Flex needed. Together with our real estate entity, Kima Commercial, the entire process was smooth, and the building became a reality in record time!

ATI Industrial Automation’s Phase V Expansion in Apex, North Carolina will be one of the most unique and high-tech facilities in the Triangle market. This design-build project consists of a new two-story, 70,000 SF building. The facility will house ATI’s executive offices, sales and support staff, engineering labs, and manufacturing operations. The project came as the result of ATI’s rapid growth, both in the US and abroad, and the need for an additional 275 employees. ATI’s Phase V Expansion will utilize the latest LED lighting technology, HVAC controls, and security devices. Likely the most unique aspect of ATI’s addition is the 3,000 SF rooftop amenity that will serve as a location for employee gatherings and celebrations. This promises to be an exciting project to watch as our incredible team of Focus staff and subcontractors work together to bring ATI’s expansion into reality!

Moffat Pipe, Inc.

Moffat Pipe is a local, family-owned company that happens to be a leader in the underground construction industry, specializing in utility installation and specialty repair. To accommodate their growth, they needed more space for administrative functions and for mechanic shop work. They selected Focus to provide this new space in Wake Forest utilizing the design build process, and were astounded at how quickly Focus was able to complete the building—six months faster than a neighboring building of lesser size!
