Focus Design Builders originated from a startup formed by Rachael and David Williams in 2010, and has grown into one of the Triangle’s premier full-service design-build companies. Fulfilling our clients goals and dreams is at the core of all our work, and we put our clients needs above all else. We're proudly woman owned and operated, with a team that has a depth of construction experience.

Seasoned construction business owner and leader with over 30 years of experience in the industry.
David Williams, Jr. grew up in Wake Forest, NC. Earning his Bachelors degree in Geography with a concentration in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and his North Carolina General Contractor’s license, David has a rich background in construction.
In 1999, David formed and developed Williams Custom Building, Inc. He took the company from a startup—with an annual gross income of $110K—to a well-established, successful construction company with a gross income of $1.5 million before partnering with Paul & Craig to form Focus Design Builders. In addition to Williams Custom Building, David also owns and/or partners in many successful construction and real-estate companies including:
David has taken part in every aspect of the residential side of construction, from home improvements through subdivision development and commercial development.
David and his wife, Rachael, live in Youngsville, NC with their two children. He takes pride in his hometown and serves his community through the Youngsville Fire Department as a board member, Captain, and Safety Officer. Through these experiences, he has been able to help shape the department’s future.
