In Leland, NC, near Wilmington and the coast, an aging shingle supply building awaited a revival. Focus Design Builders took on the challenge of modernizing this metal structure, addressing its unique coastal requirements on behalf of our client: Sunbelt Rentals.
Sunbelt Rentals is the leader in the equipment rental industry, constantly advancing the idea of how a company can best serve its customers, communities and the planet. They have a vast network of locations across North America and an expansive portfolio of products and services.
We’ve worked with Sunbelt multiple times on various builds. This specific project in Leland was an Adaptive Reuse project. The scope was extensive: replacing siding, expanding with an outdoor wash area, and evaluating for flooding and stormwater management. Specialized sand filters were installed to handle oil and fuel runoff, ensuring environmental compliance. Luckily the roof was in great shape, thanks to the building’s history as a space for a roofing company.
Despite coastal challenges, Focus Design Builders’ experience in similar projects facilitated a seamless process. With 4,600 square feet renovated and an additional 900 square feet added for the wash area, the transformation was complete.
